Clases De Educación En Inglés Por Las Tardes
Descripción general del programa: JobTrain ofrece dos clases de inglés para no hablantes nativos. Mayor conocimiento y familiaridad del idioma inglés. Aprender inglés abre oportunidades de empleo y promociones, así como una mayor participación en la comunidad.
La clase de Principiantes
La clase de Principiantes se enfoca en elementos fundamentales del inglés básico, como la familiarización del alfabeto, números, tiempo, meses y días de la semana, la terminología de dinero/transacción, así como aprender a usar estas palabras comunes para formular preguntas y respuestas simples.
Duración: ocho semanas. El plan de estudios se repite cada ocho semanas con algunos nuevos componentes agregados en cada ciclo.

La clase de nivel Intermedio
La clase de nivel Intermedio enfatiza la gramática en inglés- pronombres, sustantivos, adjetivos, etc., y cómo se usan para estructurar oraciones completas. Los estudiantes practican hablar, leer y escribir para reforzar lo que aprenden. Ambas clases son de inscripción abierta, por lo que uno puede comenzar en cualquier momento. No hay prueba de colocación. Uno solo tiene que informar al personal cuál clase se sienten cómodos tomando.
Duración: Ocho semanas por un año (enero a diciembre). Cada ciclo de ocho semanas se enfoca en una parte diferente de la gramática en inglés.

English Education Evening Classes
Program Overview: JobTrain offers two English classes for non-native speakers.
Greater knowledge and familiarity of the English language. Learning English opens opportunities for employment and promotions as well as greater engagement the community.
Beginner’s ESL Class
The Beginner’s class focuses on fundamental basic English elements, such as familiarization of the alphabet, numbers, time, months and days of the week, money/transaction terminology, as well as learning to use these common words in formulating simple questions and responses.
Length: Eight weeks. Curriculum repeats every eight weeks with some new components added each cycle.

Intermediate ESL Class
The Intermediate class emphases on English grammar – pronouns, nouns, adjectives, etc., and how they are used to structure complete sentences. Students practice speaking, reading, and writing to re-enforce what they learn. Both classes are open enrollment, so one can start anytime. There is no placement test. One just has to inform staff which class they feel comfortable taking.
Length: Eight weeks for one year (January through December). Each eight week cycle focuses on a different part of English grammar.

Computer Literacy in Spanish
This introductory computer course is taught in Spanish for Spanish speakers. You’ll learn about operating systems, management and customization, how to utilize the world wide web, Microsoft Office programs and social media platforms and much more. Students must have a computer or laptop use for the class.

About The Intermediate Class Instructor – Ruben Avelar
Ruben teaches JobTrain’s Intermediate English Education course. He has been a part of the JobTrain organization for over 23 years, and is the current Director of Career Services. He is a lifetime resident of East Palo Alto and a graduate of UC Berkeley. Ruben is passionate about making a difference in the lives’ of others.
About the Computer Literacy in Spanish Instructor – Wendy Vargas
Wendy Vargas is the Computer Literacy in Spanish Instructor and an Employment Specialist at JobTrain. Wendy assists clients in the career center in job readiness training. Her main goal as an instructor is to create an environment that allows students to ask questions and to engage. Wendy’s experience as an Employment Specialist has taught her that learning the basics in computers can truly make a difference. It sets the foundation for success.
