- United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner’s Credential (MMC) with Second or Third Assistant Chief Engineer Oceans, any Horsepower endorsement with diesel experience
- STCW 95 Certificate with the following endorsements: III/1, III/4, VI/1, VI/2, VI/3 and VI/4
- Valid United States Passport
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
