On June 18, 2015, JobTrain’s own Culinary Arts instructor, Chef Adam Weiner, CFSE, received the award for runner-up for Best Postsecondary Culinary Instructor in the United States and Canada!  This prestigious award was the first ever given by SYSCO, the largest supplier to restaurants in the world and CAFÉ (Center for the Advancement of Food Service Education).  This is quite an honor for Chef Adam and JobTrain since many of the other nominations were from major culinary schools, colleges, community colleges, as well as other vocational training programs from throughout the United States and Canada.  Congratulations Chef!

You can read more about this great achievement of Chef’s in the July 2015 issue of “The Culinarian” (see below).

Also, in the July 2015 issue of “The Culinarian,” Chef Adam writes about how to “Take something that is forbidden, and turn human tendency to want forbidden items into profit” in his article: Forbidden Fruit.  Among other things, Chef discusses doing a Forbidden Night Theme, Off-menu items, limited specials and a Chef for the Night.
