Job Description:
Every Endoscope Technician must understand and accept the responsibility to ensure the safety of all Olympus products that are repaired, by following established processes and procedures.
Under direction of the Production Supervisor, the Technician shall evaluate, troubleshoot, disassembly, assemble, repair and/or inspect Endoscopes to assure proper function. Uses a variety of small hand tools and test equipment to make repairs and facilitate disassembly and reassembly. Completes and maintains accurate service records both electronically and manually. Ensures that safe work practices are employed by observing guidelines established or enforced by Olympus. May be assigned to support business needs by working in other areas outside their primary responsibility. Proactively participates in the quality systems, quality improvement and “5S” programs as directed by the Production Supervisor. Maintains confidentiality of documents and processes.
The Technician must accomplish these objectives while maintaining a clean, well-organized work environment. The Technician will be expected to maintain acceptable standards for attendance and punctuality, and as a condition of employment, work overtime as needed.
All Technicians must have sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (such as screwdrivers, electric screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers); experience or ability to work with microscopes, test equipment (such as light sources, video processors, mega ohm testers) and hand soldering, where applicable; good communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, job standards and related information; possess basic computer skills (including keyboard and mouse skills); and must be customer focused/oriented.
Job Duties
SKILL: This entry-level Technician acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks. Following the successful completion of technical training and completion of an initial skill set, the Associate Endoscope Technician will perform functions related to the repair and service of endoscopes. The Technician must be able to reach and maintain acceptable levels of productivity and quality, requisite with the amount of time in job.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Participates in technical training in order to become proficient at one stage within the assigned Department. Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has a role in decision- making, related to repairs.
SUPERVISION: Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Works under close supervision.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma preferred or equivalent working knowledge and responsibilities.
Requires a minimum of six months to one year of working with a repeatable, detailed process requiring dexterity and hand – eye coordination or demonstrated ability to perform medical device manufacturing or repair experience.
Preferred:
Medical device experience.
