Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to support the fast-paced and innovative environment at Service by Medallions’ Client R&D facility. You will ensure the uptime and availability of essential laboratory equipment and facility systems in development efforts. Your expertise will be key to solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and helping accelerate the development of next-generation products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and Repair Lab Equipment: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on specialized equipment, including glove boxes, vacuum chamber systems, high-temperature ovens, and other precision laboratory instruments to ensure maximum uptime in a high-demand R&D setting.
- Collaborate with R&D Teams: Work closely with scientists and process technicians to support their experiments and development activities. Provide proactive equipment support to minimize downtime during critical testing phases.
- Electromechanical Prototyping & Assembly: Build, modify, and repair electromechanical prototypes and systems based on provided schematics and assembly drawings. Ensure systems are optimized for testing and research.
- System Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical failures across various systems. Collaborate with engineers to propose and implement long-term solutions for recurring issues.
- Preventive Maintenance & Calibration: Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules for equipment to ensure smooth operations and maintain high levels of equipment reliability. Perform regular calibrations to ensure all equipment meets quality standards.
- Technical Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, calibrations, and system upgrades. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Support Facilities Operations: Assist with the maintenance of critical facility systems, including compressed dry air (CDA), pure water systems (PCW), and gas delivery systems.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and operations within a lab, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Experience with electromechanical systems is essential.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Proven Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical issues quickly and independently in a high-pressure environment.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team. Positive attitude and strong communication skills are essential.
- Work Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as needed to support critical projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Advanced Lab Equipment: Prior experience working with glove boxes, vacuum chamber systems, and high-temperature ovens is highly desirable.
- Facility Systems Maintenance: Familiarity with the maintenance of compressed air systems, pure water systems, and gas delivery systems is a plus.
- Prototyping & System Assembly: Experience in building and assembling electromechanical prototypes based on technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of Solid-State Battery Technology: Exposure to solid-state batteries, energy storage, or related fields is a strong plus.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or similar are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl, and reach for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to utilize/view a PC and/or monitor.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet.
- Must be able to navigate multiple flights of stairs.
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.

Schedule: Sunday through Tuesday 6:30PM – 6:30AM (Alternating Saturday)
