Position Summary

The Advanced Manufacturing Floating Instructor (AMFI) will work with JobTrain Career Centers (Menlo Park/EPA, San Jose, Half Moon Bay, North Fair Oaks, and South San Francisco) and the SEMI Foundation. The SEMI Foundation is a recipient of the California Workforce Development Board High Road Training Partnership grant. Through this award, SEMI Foundation is co-developing an Introduction to the Semiconductor Industry Course with JobTrain, which is intended to prepare entry-level job seekers for a career in advanced manufacturing. To learn more about SEMI Foundation, please visit the following webpage: semifoundation.org.

We are looking for a responsible, qualified Instructor, capable of implementing, instructing, and evaluating educational programs in the field of Advanced Manufacturing with an emphasis in the Semiconductor Industry.  You will be responsible for teaching an overview of the semiconductor industry and fundamental technical skills necessary for entry-level positions.

The course is expected to follow a cohort model, with the cohort lasting for two weeks.  Each cohort will have up to 20 participants. Classes are held Monday through Friday. The AMFI may provide input to and support the finalization of the curriculum. We anticipate the 2-week course to be a combination of instructional time, hands-on learning and facility tours. Cohorts will be scheduled monthly or almost-monthly, and in between courses, the instructor will report on the cohort, track outcomes, refine and revise the curriculum, and prepare for upcoming cohorts.
