Construction Fundamentals Pre-Apprentice Training Program
Program Overview: Students are trained in construction fundamentals, such as demolition, concrete work, flagging, torch cutting and burning, HAZWOPER (hazardous waste removal), traffic control and use of basic building materials.
Length: 4 Modules – 16 weeks total
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m
What you get from this program
Students will learn HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Removal), OSHA rules and regulations, and use of basic building materials. Basic construction skills and math are geared toward placing students into apprenticeships in the Laborers Union.

Must attend JobTrain’s information orientation and take WONDERLIC Assessment. Must have ability to communicate clearly in English, have basic math skills, and a desire to work in the trades.
May be required to lift 70 lbs. and climb ladders, and should not be sensitive or allergic to fumes and chemical solutions.
Students must maintain a 90% attendance level. By completion of training, candidate must have acquired a valid driver’s license and must be drug and alcohol free in order to qualify for employment opportunities in the industry.
