On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, a story highlighting the generosity and community spirit of JobTrain’s Culinary Arts students was featured in The Almanac!  For the past six years, JobTrain’s Culinary Arts students, led by Chef-Instructor Adam Weiner, have baked thousands of cookies to be given to inmates at San Mateo County jails on Christmas Day.  This year JobTrain students baked a whopping 6,551 cookies for approximately 600 inmates.

In a win-win for his students, Chef Weiner noted that not only is he able to use this challenge to teach mass production cooking skills to his students, but also, “It shows people that no matter where you are in your life, you can help someone else.”
