Stephanie O. came to JobTrain by way of encouragement through her mother, Vivian Kral, longtime supporter of JobTrain and more recently also a Board Member.
After graduating from Notre Dame high school in 2008, Stephanie wasn't exactly sure what to do with the rest of her life.
Since Stephanie's older sister experienced such great success at JobTrain, Vivian hoped Stephanie too would benefit from the guidance and fine instruction of the Culinary Arts Program.
At first Stephanie was reluctant. She was even a little intimated by the high demands and incessant push for perfection by Chef Adam Weiner.
However, within a few days, it became perfectly clear as to why her mom wanted her to attend JobTrain. More important than the culinary trade she acquired, Stephanie learned the import of being punctual, responsible and accountable for her actions - both in and outside the classroom.
Before coming to JobTrain, Stephanie never knew she could be a leader. Thanks to the Culinary Arts program, many of her unique skills were both discovered and revealed for the very first time. She was appointed project lead on many special class assignments and thrived under the pressure. She realized how much she enjoyed helping people and how gratifying the experience could be.
After graduating from the Culinary Arts program in August 2008, Stephanie finally saw her potential and had the confidence to pursue her dreams. She studied at San Jose State University and pursued her degree in Political Science. Stephanie has aspirations to follow in her mother's footsteps and practice law.
