Let’s Move the Needle
For the past 50 years, JobTrain has been moving the unemployment needle in Silicon Valley—providing career training and support to people who want a better life. Thousands of people in our community lack job opportunities, because of inadequate education, poverty, abuse, previous incarceration, or just plain bad luck. Each year we are moving the needle for these individuals by removing the roadblocks that prevent them from finding and keeping employment. We do this by offering vocational training, life skills classes, skills upgrade training, child care, job placement, legal assistance, and tax benefits support. Students receive full scholarship or other support to cover all costs. Each year, we touch thousands of lives, but more are ready to work hard and succeed. Let’s Move the Needle for these individuals. JobTrain is a 501(c)3 nonprofit (Federal Tax ID #: 94-1712371). With your help, we’ll create a ripple effect that will transform families and communities around the Bay Area.
How far has the needle already moved?
- In 10 years, JobTrain has returned $120 million back to the community, in the form of cost savings, increased wages, and tax refunds.
- More than 90 percent of those we place in jobs are still working a year later, and many have been promoted.
