Special Projects and Events
Our one-time volunteer opportunities exist primarily within the realm of our major fundraisers. Our events raise money for JobTrain, promote awareness of our programs and there's a lot of fun to be had to go with all the work involved.
Our major events:
Breakfast of Champions
This annual fundraiser is held over breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and celebrates students and graduates alike with celebrity guests, community leaders and student speakers. Volunteers can assist with decorations before the event or can help at the event with registration, decorations, or by serving as a host or hostess. This event is held late April/early May each year. Golf Tournament
JobTrain’s annual Golf Classic features a full day of golf action followed by a reception, auction, and dinner in the evening. Volunteers are needed for 2 shifts: from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We need photographers, registration desk attendants, setup crews, and “cheat checkers,” who ensure that golfers do not cheat at the contest holes. Volunteers are treated to a gourmet lunch and receive a souvenir hat. This event is held mid-July each year. Learn more
Open House
This event is a gathering of community friends and family at JobTrain’s campus for a day of complimentary fun, games, food, and live music. Volunteers are needed as tour guides, as well as for setup, food service, decorations, and cleanup. This event is held late September/early October each year. Learn more
