Career Opportunities: Administrative Assistant, Secretary, Receptionist, Customer Service Clerk, Dispatcher, Accounting Clerk, General Office Clerk, Clerk Typist, Data Entry Operator, File Clerk, and other related occupations.
Start Date: First Monday of every month.
Location: JobTrain 1200 O'Brien Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025
Length of Training: Administrative Applications 10 weeks Microsoft Applications/MOS Preparation 11 weeks
Competency-based curriculum (open entry) allows students to progress at their own pace.
Days/Time: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Students must maintain a 90% attendance level.
Entry Requirements: JobTrain Orientation and WONDERLIC assessment. Must have a desire to work in an office environment. Students must demonstrate the ability to concentrate and focus on daily tasks, and be able to attend class as the schedule requires, 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Skills to be attained: Administrative Applications – Keyboarding, copier/fax operation, basic/advanced ten-key calculator, telephone reception and communication, reference sources/directories, petty cash vouchers, mail procedures, filing, manuscripts/reports, intro to MS Word fundamentals. Prerequisite: Completion or successful challenge of Computer Literacy course.
Quickbooks – Introduction/getting started, setting up QuickBooks, working with lists, bank accounts and other account types, entering sales and invoices, receiving payments and making deposits, entering and paying bills, analyzing financial data, setting up inventory, tracking and paying sales tax, doing payroll with QuickBooks, estimating and progress invoicing, track time, customizing forms, and writing QuickBooks letters. Prerequisite: Completion or successful challenge of Computer Literacy course.
Microsoft Applications/MOS – Introduction to Microsoft Office 2010, Windows 7, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel comprehensive, introduction to internet, Access and Outlook.
 Certification Track: MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist)
College Credit: Cañada College Articulated Courses: CBOT 415, CBOT 417, CBOT 430, CBOT 431, CBOT 435, CBOT 472, CBOT 474, (up to 12 units)
