Skills You Will Learn
Students will learn and enhance their job search skills. In the Job Information Center (JIC), participants will find job openings, set up interview appointments, conduct mock interviews, and receive support from staff. JIC resources include computers, internet access, fax machines, and other job search materials.

  • Write a neat and complete application and resume
  • Open and close an interview
  • Answer "tough questions" in the interview
  • Learn to dress appropriately for an interview
  • Discover the hidden job market
  • Use telemarketing techniques
  • Learn the steps to meet the manager
  • Establish job retention and life management skills
  • Understand steps to job advancement

Entry Requirements
Participants must be available for training and job search. Consult program for more information about eligibility requirements.

Length & Dates of Training
One week of intensive classroom training (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). Two to six weeks of job search using newly acquired job skills in a high-tech environment.
