Ruben Abrica Ruben Abrica is an Instructor at De Anza Community College in the Intercultural/International Studies Division and serves as adjunct faculty in the Teacher Preparation Department of The National Hispanic University.
Mr. Abrica was born and raised in Mexico where he attended vocational school. He immigrated as a teenager and started his schooling in the U.S. the last part of 7th grade. Mr. Abrica received his M.A. in Education from Stanford University and did graduate work in Linguistics at UC San Diego. Mr. Abrica was involved in the incorporation movement and served on the first East Palo Alto City Council in the 1980's. He is a founding member of the Ravenswood AYSO Soccer League for boys and girls, the Comité Latino and the East Palo Alto Council of Tenants. He has lived in East Palo Alto for 29 years and is currently on the East Palo Alto City Council and is a former Mayor of the city.
Sukhinder Singh Cassidy From 2005-2009 Sukhinder was President of Asia Pacific and Latin America for Google, where she built the company's presence from inception to scale across 40 domains and 103 different countries. Sukhinder first joined Google in 2003 as the General Manager for Google Local & Maps. From 1999-2003, Sukhinder was Co-founder and SVP of Business Development at Yodlee, a leading provider of software to the financial services industry, and previously worked for Amazon.com, News Corp and Merrill Lynch. Sukhinder has also served on the board of J.Crew.
Paul Chamberlain Paul Chamberlain is head of Morgan Stanley's Global Technology Investment Banking Group; he joined Morgan Stanley in 1985. Paul has personally been involved in over 150 technology financing and M&A transactions valued at over $120 billion. In M&A, representative transactions include advising Cisco on its purchase of Linksys, Macromedia in its sale to Adobe Systems, J.D. Edwards in its sale to PeopleSoft, Legato Systems in its sale to EMC, Palm in its purchase of Handspring, Netscape in its sale to AOL, Documentum in its sale to EMC, and eBay in its purchase of Internet Auction Co. He has also appeared annually on Forbes Magazine's Midas List of top technology VCs and bankers. Paul earned a MBA from the Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a BA degree in History. He lives with his wife Martha and four children in Palo Alto.

Bringing 24 years of software experience to Agiliance, Joe was CEO at Workshare (security) for nearly 5 years, growing new sales by 400% and customers from 3,500 to 11,000 including 62% of the F1000, establishing a household name in content security. Previous to Workshare, Joe was CEO at Liquid Engines (financial management), now a division of Thomson Reuters (TRI), creating a strategic cash and tax planning solution for global enterprises. Joe was also Worldwide Marketing VP at Macromedia (ADBE) from inception, to private-private merger, through its public offering, and International Sales and Marketing Director at Interleaf (BVSN), then Inc's 7th fastest growing company in America. Joe received a MS in Computer Engineering from Tufts University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University.
Jorge del Calvo Jorge del Calvo is a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP in Palo Alto, CA. He focuses on the representation of technology companies in venture capital and securities transactions, including public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. During the period from 2000 to present, Mr. del Calvo has led the nation in representing issuers in completed technology IPOs. During his career, he has represented U.S. and foreign issuers in hundreds of public and private offerings of equity, debt and convertible securities. In 2000, he represented Network Solutions in its $2.2 Billion follow-on public offering, which was the largest internet follow-on public equity offering in history.

Bud Ferrari Clarence (“Bud”) J. Ferrari, Jr., a founding partner of Ferrari Ottoboni Caputo & Wunderling LLP, which specializes in business and tax planning with an emphasis on wealth transfer and business planning for individuals, families, and closely-held companies. Bud has extensive experience in a wide range of business transactions and structuring sophisticated estate plans including generation- skipping transfers, grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, life insurance trusts, and family limited partnerships. He also represents taxpayers with respect to income, estate, and gift tax controversies in both federal and state tax matters. Bud received his LL.B., and J.D. from Stanford University. J. Scott Kaspick Scott Kaspick was the founder and Chairman of Kaspick & Company, the nation's leading provider of planned gift investment, administration and program support services to charities nationwide. Kaspick & Company has offices in Redwood Shores, California and Boston, Massachusetts and manages over $4.5 billion of assets for clients, primarily for planned gifts, but also for small endowments and individuals. Scott's role included advising clients on investment management and other related issues and leading the strategic planning effort for the firm. On October 1, 2006 the firm became a separate operating division of TIAA-CREF. Prior to founding Kaspick & Company, Scott was Associate Treasurer at Stanford University and a member of the University's endowment management team from 1983-1989. He has a BA in Economics from California State University, Sacramento, and an MBA from Stanford University.
Vivian Kral Vivian Kral is an attorney in private practice with nearly two decades of expertise in family law, civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Prior to establishing her practice, Vivian was appointed by the State Bar Board of Governors to serve as Judge Pro Tempore and completed three consecutive terms from 1990 to 1994. Vivian practiced civil litigation matters in both the San Mateo and Santa Clara County Superior Courts in addition to U.S. District Courts during her nine year tenure at the firm of Thoits, Love, Hershberger & McLean.
Vivian earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University with an A.B. in Psychology and Art History. She lives with her husband and three children in Atherton. Vivian is also the proud parent of two JobTrain graduates.
Rob Kricena Rob Kricena is the Senior Vice President, Senior Regional Manager for Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group in the Peninsula and South Bay Regions of California. He leads a team that provides trust, brokerage, investment management, private banking and insurance services to high net worth individuals throughout the Region. He came to the Peninsula/South Bay Region from Pasadena, where he was an SVP, Regional Manager for the Pasadena Region.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Rob was a Vice President, Wealth Management Specialist with Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles, where he led new business development of trust, insurance, and wealth planning services. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Rob worked for the law firm of Foley, Hoag and Eliot in Washington, DC, specializing in tax and estate planning. Rob received his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and his BA from the University of Delaware. He is a former Board Member of the LA Zoo and Villa Esperanza Services and is currently a Board Member of JobTrain.
John Laing John Laing is one of the pioneers of the security software industry. He has a 36-year history in the technology industry, having held senior management positions in multiple markets: content discovery with Inxight; security with Symantec; desktop operating systems with Apple; and document printing with Xerox. While serving as Executive Vice-President of Worldwide Sales for Symantec from 1989-1997, he managed revenue growth from $15 million to $600 million and orchestrated several high-profile acquisitions. Most recently, John was CEO of Reactivity, a leading XML-enabled networking solutions provider that he sold to Cisco. Throughout his career, John has raised money from respected venture institutions including Vantage Point Venture Partners, Accel Partners, Sequoia Capital and Reed Elsevier Ventures among others. John currently serves on the boards of Workshare, a document management company, Verdiem, an energy management company in Seattle and Grid Net, whose technology is focused on revolutionizing the electric meter industry.
Wade W. Loo Wade Loo was formerly a partner in the Silicon Valley office of KPMG LLP. He was the Partner-in-Charge of Audit for Northern California, which consisted of the KPMG offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Sacramento and Honolulu. He has 29 years of experience working with major public companies in an international setting and serving major U.S. multinational companies. Wade started his career with KPMG in 1980 in Denver, Colorado after graduating from the University of Denver. He is a CPA and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Francisca Miranda Dr. Francisca Miranda taught in the most challenging area of Seattle after graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's degree in Education. While her initial assignment was to teach Spanish and English to students in grades 7-9, she taught, counseled, coordinated and administered high school programs in Campbell, San Jose, Sacramento, Fresno districts and currently the Sequoia Union High School District. This also allowed her to complete a master's degree in Pupil Personnel/Guidance Services and a doctoral degree in Education Organizational Management. She is currently the Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services for the Sequoia Union High School District. She and her husband of 38 years, enjoy visiting their daughter, a DNA science researcher and MBA graduate who resides in Seattle/Bellevue area and their son, a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy.
Tamar Pichette Tamar Pichette is an Attorney with law degrees from Oxford University, UK, and Osgoode Hall, Toronto. She has 10 years experience in corporate litigation practice, with experience in ADR and is a former member of the Quebec Tae Kwon Do Association, Ethics Committee. Tamar is also a former board member of the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, Chair of Compliance Committee, and Complaints Committee.
Tamar is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Holderness School and also the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Tim Ranzetta Tim Ranzetta is the founder of Student Lending Analytics (SLA), an independent research and advisory firm focused on finding the best financing options for students. While researching student loan options for several of his 14 nieces and nephews, he identified the need for an independent, analytical and objective source of information to increase the transparency of the student lending market. Prior to founding SLA, Tim played leading roles in building two successful start- ups: Instashred and Equilar. As the leading national player in the document destruction industry, Instashred was acquired by Recall in 2000. As President at Equilar, Tim built the company from its start-up phase to its position as the premier provider of executive compensation research and analysis. Tim earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with distinction from the University of Virigina with a B.S. degree in Commerce. He lives with his wife Theresia and daughter in Palo Alto.
Ian Thomson Ian Thomson joined the JobTrain board several years ago and is now the senior member of the Board of Directors. Ian is a Certified Public Accountant and serves as Treasurer of the Board. He is the head of Ian Thomson Accountancy Corporation in Palo Alto. A native of the United Kingdom, Ian lives in Palo Alto with his wife Olga.
Isaiah Vi Isaiah Vi is an Information Technology Analyst for the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency, a government agency that strives to promote self-sufficiency, increase family strength and stability, and improve community health. An alumnus of JobTrain, he joined its Board of Directors in 2006. Because of his success, Isaiah was honored a few years ago as a Champion at the annual JobTrain Breakfast of Champions. Born on the tiny island in the south pacific, The Kingdom of Tonga, which was also coined by Captain James Cook as the “Friendly Islands”, Isaiah now lives in the Bay Area. His hobbies include playing the drums as a musician and volleyball.
Mike Williams Michael Williams is the Vice President, Cloud Services and Emerging Technologies for Trend Micro based in Cupertino, California. More recently, Michael served as VP Worldwide sales for NetSuite (NYSE: N), and was previously vice-president of sales at ZANTAZ. In addition, from 1996-2001, Michael was one of Exodus Communications' (now part of SAVVIS) early employees and top Sr. Sales Execs. Prior to Exodus, he held a number of sales and sales management positions with leading telecommunications providers for more than a decade. He earned bachelor’s degrees in both international business and finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Michael has proudly served on the JobTrain Board of Directors for the past 15 years.
